Gordon was an honest, if somewhat naïve, businessman. He was father to the conniving Wayne, and their difficult relationship featured as more than one major storyline. Three times married during the series, Gordon was one of only four original characters who made it to the final episode of the show in 1987.
Brian's last big television role was in Neighbours in 1991. In the soap, he once again acted opposite Anne Haddy, who had played the Hamilton's housekeeper, Rosie, in Sons and Daughters. This time, however, the pair played lovers.
Brian's character, Michael Daniels, married Helen Daniels despite the fact that he was already married to someone else.
Despite other roles, Brian will always be fondly remembered as the well-meaning Hamilton patriarch. |
